On 11th September 100 teams of amateur and professional bakers from all across Scotland came together to recreate the country’s top 100 buildings in cake!
Watch as we reveal, what will undoubtedly be a visual masterpiece, as we construct a giant edible map of Scotland within the spectacular setting of Cowane’s Hospital in Stirling.
This fun filled day will be packed with activities for everyone to enjoy, including; Street theatre from the talented Cake Ladies and Tea Club, Food Tours, live music and a series of cake making workshops. Plus, plenty of cake eating along the way! Whilst we’re constructing the cake you can also enjoy the fantastic events already taking place in Stirling over this celebratory weekend. With activities at Bloody Scotland, Shindig and Doors Open Day – there’s so much to see and do.
So whether you like baking cakes or simply eating them – come along and enjoy Cake Fest for a fantastic day out for all the family to enjoy.
Don’t forget, if you’d like to bake a cake for the map there’s still time. We’re not looking for perfectly scaled masterpieces, everyone is welcome to take part and we’ll advise and guide you throughout the challenge - but we are looking for adventurous spirits, up-for-it attitudes and a passion for Scotland’s buildings and landscape. We think you’ve probably got that in abundance. To take part simply check our list of 100 buildings and tell us your first and second choice, we’ll then confirm your selection and tell you what happens next. If there’s a building you love that isn’t on our list, feel free to make a suggestion and we’ll consider it. Go for it!
Taking part is rewarding, fun and free. One more thing, in case you were wondering - yes, when the map has been completed and suitably admired by the crowds, we’ll eat the lot.
